Keats Cottage is a boutique accommodation offering a home from home feel. Keats Cottage is located at the top of the Old Village in Shanklin, Isle of Wight, overlooking the theatre and within a 5 minute walk of the sea. The house was named after John Keats, an English Romantic poet who stayed at the then named Eglatine Cottage in the summer of 1819 and wrote some of his poems at this very property.
His poetry, as well as Blake's, Shelley's, Byron's and Tennyson's after whom further rooms are named, is readily available at Keats Cottage. Steeped in history and with parts of the building over 400 years old, Keats Cottage has been lovingly refurbished. All the rooms are en-suite and are equipped with modern amenities and you can experience crisp linen, fluffy towels, homemade biscuits and Nespresso coffee machines.
We believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and you can enjoy a traditional English breakfast consisting of organic ingredients sourced from nearby farms as well as home-made jams, delicious omelettes, creamy porridge or vitamin packed fruit smoothies to name just a few options!

Keats Kitchen which was inspired by the poet John Keats, is a unique place offering not only lovely homemade food but also a place to come and relax over coffee, read literature or just enjoy a glass of local wine with friends.
As Keats was a keen traveller, we decided to take on board our knowledge of Polish and Swiss cuisines, in addition to more traditional fayre in our menus.
David and Ewa believe in the little things which make people happy.
Having worked for quality restauranteurs such as Sir Terrence Conran and Paul Heathcote and having broadened their horizons by working in Switzerland, the emphasis was on exceptional food and service in a home from home experience.
