This is the perfect place to get away from it all - relax, walk on deserted beaches, around Mallaig or in the wider area, climb hills, hire a kayak or a canoe and explore sheltered coves, on Loch Morar or take a guided kayak trip amongst the islands in Arisaig Bay or further afield, getting close to the wildlife.
Services
Creag Mhor Lodge has great views, even when you're sitting down, because of its elevated position and low lounge windows.
It is spacious and comfortable with excellent insulation, so is cosy at any time of year.
Although externally semi-detached, the Lodges were built totally separately apart from roof and exterior walls so that no sound carries from one to another.
Heating can be operated as central heating or by individual heater.
A selection of books, DVDs, games and lots of visitor information is provided.
2 bedrooms - one double (ground floor - views to the islands), 1 twin (upstairs) with space for cot.
Views to Skye.
The Cottage is particularly good for 1 or 2 couples or families with 1 or 2 children plus baby.
The beds upstairs can be pushed together if required.
There is plenty of space upstairs for a cot.
Access is fairly flat, only small steps, and suitable for wheelchair access up to 2'3 width.
It adjoins the main house but is completely separate and sound-proof.
Convector heaters can be set on 24 hour timer and there is an electric "wood burning stove" in the lounge.
Arisaig is a small village with a population of about 300 which nestles amongst the hills, beside a bay littered with islands, in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The Gulf Stream warms this small locality, conferring a lushness and profusion of flowers and often better weather than the forecasters tell you!
The harbour is a popular haven for sailing boats and is the departure point for day trips to the Small Isles of Eigg, Rum and Muck - there is time to explore and the chance of spotting whales or dolphins en route.
The Games room has a pool table (full size) with a board and net that can be put over it to make a table tennis table.
The Games room also has a selection of toys, fishing nets, balls etc.
After a strenuous day's hiking - or a lazy day at the beach - you can relax and freshen up for watching the sunset.
