Services
From Kyle of Lochalsh the cottages are about 35 minutes drive.
When you cross The Skye Bridge continue on the A87 towards Broadford (but don't go into the town) for about 7 miles and take the left turn-off for Armadale / Ardvasar (A851).
Drive along this double track road for about 15 miles until you come to the junction at the Petrol Station.
Take the right turn-off into Ardvasar, pass the local shop, the Village Hall and Ardvasar Hotel.
Just past the phone box on the left, take a right turn (Calligary Cottages sign on the wall) up a narrow lane to Calligary Cottages.
There are lots of things to see and do near the cottage as the surrounding area has sandy beaches, rugged mountains and forest walks.
The sea and rivers teem with fish and deer still roam the glens.
You should also make time to see Armadale Castle & Gardens (ancient home of Clan Donald), just along from the Gaelic College, Sabhal Mor Ostaig.
Nearby is Armadale Pier where the ferry leaves for Mallaig, on the mainland.
Its a short crossing and most pleasant on a summer day.
You should also make the short journey over the hill to Ord and Tokavaig as the scenery is stunning with superb views of the Cuillin Hills.
