Here at 2 Cambridge Villas Bed & Breakfast our aim is to give you a home away from home, in the heart of Ambleside, The Lake District. We are conveniently located for transport links in Ambleside, and within easy walking distance of many good restaurants, pubs, shops, and cafes. For hill-walkers, there are plenty of amazing routes doable from our door.

A few notable routes are: Loughrigg; Wansfell; Fairfield; Red Screes; and High Sweden Bridge. The main park in Ambleside is also only a couple of minutes walk away. Breakfast can be a hearty 'Full English' or choose the healthier 'Continental' option, with fresh fruit salad. Whenever Kate has the baking tins out, there will be delicious freshly baked cake for afternoon snacks.

Whatever you have been enjoying during the day; mountain walks, strolls through pretty valleys, or simply some retail therapy, a slice of cake will always go down well! Most of all, your hosts, Kate & Mark, will have a smile to greet you and always be keen to hear of your adventures around the region.

While the Lake District can be a huge playground, it can also be a very demanding environment and deserves a great deal of respect.

Being only a short distance from Grasmere, Rydal and Windermere lakes, the surrounding fells offer some tremendous vistas of each and the lakes themselves offer a plethora of opportunities for exploration.

And when it comes to meal time, the hardest part about finding some great food and drink is deciding which of the many fine establishments to choose from.
