David and Angela Welcome you to Claremont House situated in Ambleside, right in the heart of the English Lake District, ideally situated to tour and explore one of Britain's most beautiful National Parks.

Some of the UK's finest scenery and the country's most popular climbing and walking areas are on our doorstep or just a short drive away. Our Ambleside Bed & Breakfast accommodation is only 10 minutes' walk from the north end of Windermere Lake which offers a variety of water sports and Lake Cruises, and are less than a minutes' walk to the many restaurants, pubs, shops and park offered by Ambleside.

In the town you will find everything you need to enjoy your stay. Maps and literature are available on all aspects of the area as well as excellent local knowledge and advice on drives, walks, cycles, scrambles and places of interest.

Our breakfast menu is sourced locally where possible including bread from the Apple Pie Bakery in Ambleside.
Bacon, Cumberland sausage, black pudding, baked beans, mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, free range eggs from Windermere - fried, scrambled or poached, hash browns, Linda McCartney vegetarian sausages and toasted bread from The Apple Pie Bakery.
John Farrers Lakeland blend tea, Fairtrade espresso roast coffee and a selection of various speciality teas.
There are is adventure and activities galore on the doorstep of Claremont House from walking and cycling to rock climbing (indoor and outdoor).
Historic houses and gardens, an award winning cinema and of course Lake Windermere for cruises and with Ambleside's location of being the heart of the Lake District, you'll not far from any of the stunning lakes and villages in this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
