There is a lot to be said for sitting on the patio with a cold drink and just watching life pass by. For a relaxing game of crazy golf, complete with sea views, you only have to walk 300 yards down the road. Great for the budding Tiger Woods among you. Lorraine Lunn and family, the resident proprietors, pride themselves in offering you a very warm welcome and a comfortable stay, which you will want to repeat time and time again.

Lynton House Hotel enjoys an enviable position on Teignmouth seafront. It is situated in a quiet, level position opposite the new children's play-park and is only yards from the sands of the main beach, the picturesque river beach and the main shopping centre. This strikingly elegant building has an interesting history, being part of Powderham Terrace, an impressive example of Victorian architecture which was erected in the 1860's by the Courtenay family, Earls of Devon.
Services
The seafront, as seen from Lynton House, has a beautifully kept promenade, which is flat and wide, making 'a stroll along the prom' a real pleasure.
The new children's state-of-the-art play area, adventure golf course and the grand Victorian Pier are all very popular with young and old alike.
The Den, a large, grassed area, opposite the Pier is ideal for a leisurely game of cricket or a picnic.
Teignmouth Town Beach, just below the promenade, is long and sandy and stretches from the mouth of the River Teign east towards Dawlish.
The guest accommodation has twelve en-suite guest bedrooms, most of which have beautiful sea or river views.
Comfortable beds, colour television, tea and coffee making facilities combine to ensure that you feel at home.
There is a stair lift to the first floor for guests with mobility problems.
We have twelve en-suite rooms which all have flat-screen, remote control, digital televisions and beverage trays.
We also have two separate bathrooms in which there is a bath, if you desperately want a bath rather than a shower.
Our spacious Dining Room, situated on the ground floor and having separate tables, offers a peaceful atmosphere in which to enjoy our tasty home-cooked hearty breakfast.
Please note that breakfast is available from 8.30 am to 9.00 am.
If this is not convenient to your plans, please refer to our 'Room Only' tariff.
This rate is only available when booked directly with Lynton House, i.e. it is not available to book online.
As with all holidays, the main intention is to get a break from the traditional day to day routine that is maintained for the majority of time for most people.
At Lynton House we are well placed for our guests to visit many different attractions in the area.
Being positioned in the South West with a climate temperate enough for palm trees to grow there are plenty of local attractions to keep most people entertained.
Occasionally the weather is less accommodating and when this occurs we also have local attractions suitable for wet or windy weather.
Nowhere is very far in Teignmouth!
The railway station is about 10 minutes walk away (depending how fast you walk) but if you are arriving with luggage by train, we recommend that you take a taxi.
A taxi ride will take less than 5 minutes.
Yes, we do.
We only have a residents' licence so if you bring friends in for a drink, I'm afraid you will have to pay for their drinks!
I hope so!
We have four family rooms, three of which will accommodate a family of four and one for a family of five.
Lynton House is an ideal place to stay with children as we have the play area immediately across the road and the beach only a minute's walk away.
