We're a family run business and have owned the Little Crown Inn for over ten years, building the business up from a traditional pub into the thriving bar, restaurant and accommodation that it is today. Our restaurant is well established and offers a mouth-watering selection of locally sourced, home cooked food, seven days a week. Whether it's an intimate dinner for two, a sit down meal for 50 or a buffet for 100, we can cater for your needs.
In 2014 we finally opened our Visit Wales graded 4* accommodation, boasting five, beautifully finished, ensuite rooms. As we are set in an area steeped in history, we have embraced our heritage and each room has been named after a local colliery. As our research continues, the rooms will be decorated with pictures and stories of their namesakes, hopefully making for a uniquely interesting stay!

As Ian (AKA Gus) has a passion for all things to do with our Welsh mining culture and history, we have converted the corridor leading to the new toilets and accommodation into a "mine shaft"!
Equipped with genuine miners' lamps, gas masks and "falling" beams the mine shaft is a bit of fun designed to give a little insight into being in a mine!
The pub itself is situated on the site of the old Elled Level drift mine, which was opened in 1871 on the site of the old Tranch Colliery.
At its peak in 1923, the mine employed 310 men, working from the Big Vein and Old Coal seams.
