Services
We're a small, family run business, committed to deliver the highest quality of stay to our guests - from the moment you book with us, throughout your stay and thereafter.
Your first point of contact is Fay Hancock.
Fay has more of a 'behind the scenes' role in the business as she has two young children (two of Jane and Nigel's six grandchildren).
Fay deals with bookings and the day to day management of Pontyclerc, all communications and bookings come direct to Fay and she's happy to help with the planning of your stay, whether it be recommendations for activities or restaurants or billing enquiries.
Pontyclerc Farm was originally part of the Dynefwr Estate, 200 acres of mixed farming.
The original farmhouse is a 12th century longhouse which was then converted to a barn when Pontyclerc Farm House was built in the early 1800s.
The barn is now an office and book store for our companies Sigma Press UK which publishes books on UK walking, cycling and local history and Stobart Davies, a specialist bookseller and publisher of woodworking books.
Pontyclerc was also home to Pontyclerc Brickworks and the Pontyclerc Colliery which changed eventually to Pantyffynnon Colliery, the farm supplying fresh milk to all the miners.
Our four individually designed rooms; Y Fferws, Y Llwchwr, Y Cennen and Yr Aman are named after local rivers nearby the bed and breakfast.
All are appointed to a high standard, with quality fixtures, furnishings and fittings, luxurious 400 thread count Egyptian cotton bed linen and high quality towels.
Our en-suites are equiped with excellent showers; Y Llwchwr boasting a large wet room, Y Cennen has a shower and Y Fferws and Yr Aman having the best of both worlds with a large bath with victorian style shower over.
Y Llwchwr, named after the River Loughor/Llwchwr which runs just below the Bed and Breakfast is one of our largest first floor bedrooms, boasting a two level Wet Room En-Suite bathroom.
Y Llwchwr can be used as a King Room, for both single or double occupancy, with an incredibly comfortable King Bed.
It can also be used as a Family Room, for up to four guests, with an equally comfortable pull-out double sofabed.
Both are dressed with high quality bedding and super-soft 400 thread count Egyptian cotton bed linen, with a selection of pillows for each guest.
Y Cennen, named after the River Cennen which runs through nearby Llandeilo and Carreg cennen Castle is our only ground floor bedroom, featuring a luxurious en-suite shower room.
Y Cennen can offer parking directly outside the room and has only one step up into the bedroom, off the beautiful and light sun room.
Y Cennen can be used as single or double occupancy of the incredibly comfortable King bed room.
The king room has high quality bedding and super-soft 400 thread count Egyptian cotton bed linen, with a selection of pillows for each guest.
