Now in our 7th Year of providing comfortable accommodation for weekend, short breaks and longer stays, we welcome several returning guests as well as those visiting for the first time.

Burton Hall is a large attractive wooden house transported from Norway in the 1870's by a local Wool Mill owner.
It is set in 1.4 acres of garden with lovely views over the town and to Dartmoor.
Having started life as a family home, Burton Hall went on to be a successful hotel, then a country club and now back to being a family home.
We have two properties available for short breaks, weekend and longer stays - a one bedroom wooden cabin and a one/two bedroom self-contained apartment situated in the East Wing of Burton Hall.
It is set in 1.4 acres of garden with lovely views over the town and to Dartmoor.

A short walk from Burton Hall down the hill brings you into North Tawton, an old town on the River Taw, where farming and wool mills were once the main industry.
Now farming remains central to the area, along with the local cheese factory producing award winning cheese which can be bought in the factory shop.
In the town there are local shops - post office, Spar, pharmacy, deli/cafe and gift shop.
There are four pubs - some offering food, a cafe serving delicious breakfast/lunch, a pizza/kebab take away and an excellent fish and chip shop.

From Exeter (M5) Junction 31 follow A30 to Okehampton and Bodmin for approximately 15 minutes; take the A3124 exit at Whiddon Down signposted for Winkleigh and Great Torrington.
Go past the Services and take the next right turn on to A3124 for North Tawton.
Follow the twisting road until you reach a cross road (A3072).
Go straight across and continue on the approach to North Tawton.
Follow road through town into The Square, turn right immediately after the Clock Tower and then left into North Street (narrow entrance).
