Furtho Manor Farm is a family run working sheep and arable farm. As farming practices have changed buildings have been converted to create new activies on the farm. In the late 1990's the courtyard opposite the farmhouse was re-built in to offices after a farm fire which nearly destroyed them. Then after ceasing milking cows over eight years ago other buildings became storage units and we excitingly started holding wedding receptions in a barn we used to lamb the sheep in.
So now the car park is busy in the week with staff for the offices and guests for the Bed & Breakfast, as well as some small wedding ceremonies. Then at the weekend when the units are quiet we hold weddings and events in a barn. Although we are only ten minutes outside Milton Keynes you can feel miles away.

My girls asked me recently what food we had at our wedding, and when I replied saying we had had canapes, roast lamb and pudding they said we were boring.
When we got married, most people were very traditional and that was the way we went.
At each table we nominated a carver, and they were presented with a leg of lamb to carve.
If all the people on the table did not know each other this soon broke any ice.
Robin & I cannot even remember what canapes and pudding we had, although I am sure we debated what to have for a while.
