This beautiful Victorian building has been refurbished and renovated over the past decade to offer a contemporary accommodation, a great bar and amazing food now overseen by multi-award-winning chef Steven Doherty.

In 2006 Lancaster Brewery purchased the hotel in Barrow in Furness and renovations began. The Duke of Edinburgh is now returning to Barrow's premier town centre hotel offering 51 luxury en-suite rooms, a cask ale bar and subterranean restaurant, bar and function room. Ideally located in the centre, just two minutes walk from the train station and with its own private car park, the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel is on the edge of the Lake District; the ideal base for guests visiting on leisure or business.

It's a great place to stay in Cumbria, with many of our residents choosing to stay with us over Lake District hotels because they get the same quality only at a portion of the price.
