The Cottage is a traditional Fish and Chip shop that frys in beef dripping and specialises in a daily selection of freshly baked pies. In 2021 the shop gained recognition at a national level, once again, being named in the top 50 Fish and Chip takeaway's in the country by trade publication Fry Magazine. The Cottage by Haddocks was the only Fish and Chip Shop in Lancashire to make the prestigious list and scored an impressive 97%.
Our values and approach to food have established the shop at the centre of our bustling and prosperous community with a strong heritage and reputation to uphold. Cottage Fish and Chips supported the industrial development of Lancashire mill towns with workers, very often with no means of cooking in their own houses, nipping into the local cottage with a fryer for fried fish after a busy day at the mill.
Roasted and 16 hour Braised Shank of Lamb, Roasted Root Vegetables, Haggis Gravy, Suet Pastry. Add chips and a choice of two sides a homemade pie (chips are fried in beef dripping like my grandma made 'em).
