Services
Character Cottages was founded in 2011 to create a distinctive, high quality holiday lettings business.
Our focus is on fabulous country homes in beautiful towns and villages, throughout the Cotswolds.
Each holiday home has an abundance of character to make your holiday even more special.
As our name implies, we limit ourselves to properties that exude character - exposed beams, period features, open fireplaces and breathtaking views.
We love market towns and also focus on those picture-perfect villages "just down the road", to ensure our guests get the privacy and peace and quiet they deserve on holiday, whilst still being on the doorstep of all the usual attractions, shops and facilities.

Blockley is a popular village in the Cotswolds which is found within a triangle formed by three renowned market towns: Chipping Campden to the North, Moreton-in-Marsh to the South East and Stow-on-the-Wold to the South.
Being close to these three towns has led to increased footfall in the village, bringing with it good quality pubs and a lovely village shop/caf.
As the village is away from main roads, it avoids the heavy tourist traffic and so visitors can get a real sense of rural life, enjoying the rolling countryside which falls within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The attractive market town of Cirencester is the largest town in the Cotswold District.
It is the home of the Royal Agricultural University, the oldest agricultural college in the English-speaking world, founded in 1840.
Cirencester was known to be an important early Roman area, when it was called Corinium, and the town's Corinium Museum is well known for its extensive Roman collection.
Cirencester contains a wide range of shops, leisure facilities and tourist attractions, including the Church of St. John the Baptist, renowned for its Perpendicular porch, fan vaults and merchants' tombs, and Cirencester House, the seat of Earl Bathurst and the site of one of the finest landscape gardens in England, laid out by the first Earl Bathurst after 1714.

Longborough is a beautiful village of Cotswold stone cottages, set away from busy roads on a hill slope, which looks east over the lovely Evenlode Valley.
The village is two miles north of the famous market town of Stow-on-the-Wold, three miles south-west of Moreton-in-Marsh, and sits on the Heart of England Way.
The village is best known for the Longborough Festival Opera, which presents a season of high quality opera each June and July.
The intimate auditorium seats just under 500, with an orchestra pit for up to 70 players, and some of the most glorious views in England.

In medieval times Nailsworth was a settlement at the confluence of the Avening Valley and the Woodchester Valley, on the Nailsworth Stream.
Among many notable medieval buildings in the area are Chavenage House and Rodmarton Manor.
More recently, Nailsworth was a small mill town and centre for brewing (the town now has the largest number of working water wheels per square mile in the country).
It was connected directly to the UK national rail network between 1867 and 1947, with a station that was the terminus of the Stonehouse and Nailsworth Railway.
