Milton Abbas is located within the heart of Dorset.
We invite our guests to explore our beautiful county, based in our own historic and picturesque village.
From charming towns and villages, National Trust properties, to beaches and stunning Jurassic coastal walks, there is so much to see and do.
Milton Abbas is considered by many to be the first planned settlement in England.
In 1780, Joseph Damer, Lord Milton, the first Earl of Dorchester and owner of Milton Abbey, decided that the nearby village, Middleton, was disturbing his vision of rural peace.
