Services
The current Wynnstay was originally built at the end of the 18th Century, as a town house.
The individuality reflects the independence of the spirit that characterises the area.
An attractive award-winning restaurant serving the very best of local dishes and our cosy bar and lounge make a visit to the Wynnstay an absolute must.
All our rooms are en-suite with colour television, wireless connection and beverage making facilities, but that's as far as the uniformity goes.
We have secure storage for bicycles, motorbikes and guns, please enquire at reception at the time of booking or on arrival if you require this service.
It all starts with ingredients.
We are fortunate here.
We have one of the world's great natural larders around us, and it's our job to get that food to you in its prime.
We have a lineup of Welsh real ales and a Welsh lager.
We import a number of wines on tap directly from the vineyards in Italy, so we can say we have really interesting but very high quality (single estate) house wines at very affordable prices.
We have a lineup of spirits and liqueurs, including many from Wales.
As with our food, we like to have a sense of place in our bar.
There's a lot going on in mid Wales!
If you're staying at The Wynnstay and would like some inspiration for things to do nearby and a little further afield, here are our suggestions.
The Dyfi Osprey Project has been running at Cors Dyfi Nature Reserve near Machynlleth since 2009.
Lots of opportunities for fishing lakes and rivers for Sea Trout (pictured here), Rainbow and Brown TroutAlso great sea fishing from shore and boat (we can advise).
Cambrian Safaris provide excursions into the Cambrian Mountains in a Land Rover Discovery.
There's a lot going on in and around Machynlleth!
Machynlleth has a selection of book shops including the famous Coch-y-bondu for fishing and nature books.
There are shops selling jewellery, clothing, gifts, things for the home, health foods/supplements - and there are many antique and collectors' shops, detailed below.
You can hold your own Antiques Road Trip just visiting Machynlleth - it is a real centre for antiques, collectable, bric-a-brac, bits and bobs.
Much of The Wynnstay has been furnished from these shops.
