The Galloway Arms Hotel is a heritage listed, quality 10 bedroom hotel lying midway between the town centres of Castle Douglas and Dumfries. These towns are 18 miles apart, so that Crocketford over the years became fondly referred to as 'The Nine Mile Bar'. We are a family owned and managed heritage hotel in the heart of South West Scotland, benefiting from a rural location which is also central.
The Galloway Arms has been serving the needs of weary travellers and visitors to the area for more than two hundred years and pride ourselves on delivering service built upon years of tradition and experience. Relax and unwind in the Nine Mile Lounge Bar with one of our premium malt whiskies or choose from our continually growing gin collection. Alternatively, you might like to play a game of pool, darts or dominoes with friends or enjoy the sunshine in our fully enclosed beer garden.
Our all day menu is available in the front foyer and bar area from 12noon - 9pm. Dining Room is avaliable for bookings.

Services
The Galloway Arms Hotel is owned by Pat Watson and her daughter Paula and son in law Stuart.
I have worked in the hospitality industry for over four decades and re-opened the Galloway Arms with my late husband James Watson (Noky) in 1996.
I was born and raised in Crocketford and I was delighted to return to the village where I feel truly at home.
After 20 years I continue to enjoy being part of the family business and I have always believed that the kitchen is the heart of the hotel.
I joined my family when they decided to take on the challenge of The Galloway Arms Hotel in 1996 and I worked in all areas for over twelve years before taking a step back to have our family.

The Buchanites founded Crocketford village in 1787.
This religious sect comprised of adherents of Elizabeth Buchan (1738-91), who believed she was the woman referred to in Revelations 12. Elizabeth Buchan managed to persuade others that she had heavenly powers, and they joined her to become the original settlers in Crocketford.
They lived here in a convent, the building we now know as The Galloway Arms Hotel.
A former convent, it was named 'The New Inn' when it opened as a Hotel in1856, later changing to The Galloway Arms Hotel & for a short while 'The Viking Lodge Hotel'.
