Services
Kyleakin is a pretty fishing village situated on the south eastern tip of Skye and is close to the Skye Bridge providing quick access onto the mainland.
The village itself has good local services including a village shop, post office, hotels, B&Bs and pubs, The larger village of Kyle of Lochalsh just across the Bridge offers enhanced facilities including a supermarket, leisure center and railway station.
Everything changed with the opening of the Skye Bridge and the end of the ferry service.
The bridge now comes ashore a little west of Kyleakin, and visitors only come to the village if they positively choose to do so.
