Carnaburg Guest House is one of the the original 18th Century coloured houses on Tobermory's 'Main Street'. This 200 year old building was originally within a row of fisherman's cottages and overlooks Calve Island, The Sound of Mull and the Morven Hills beyond. Linda and Rob would like to offer you a warm welcome to our newly furnished and decorated rooms.
Carnaburg Guest House is an ideal base for exploring Tobermory and all that the beautiful Island of Mull has to offer. Tobermory is the capital of, and the only burgh on the Isle of Mull in the Inner Hebrides. It is located in the northeastern part of the island, near the northern entrance of the Sound of Mull. With a current population of approximately one thousand, the town was founded as a fishing port in 1788, its layout based upon the designs of Dumfriesshire engineer Thomas Telford.
The name Tobermory is derived from the Gaelic Tobar Mhoire, meaning "Mary's Well". The name refers to a well located nearby which was dedicated in ancient times to the Virgin Mary.
