Dear Ann & Colin Thank you for your warm welcome so lovely to see you both again and to be back in Rosedale.
As always" Anns Cottage" clean comfortable & cosy a real credit to you & Colin for the hard work that goes into maintaining your cottages to such a high standard.
Rosedale valley is 9 miles North West of Pickering.
Take the A170 west from Pickering, then turn North at Wrelton, through Cropton and on to Rosedale Abbey.
After 1 mile take the ROSEDALE EAST ONLY junction directly ahead, the road with the motorbike in the photograph.
Follow this for another mile, and when you reach the CREAM PAINTED HOUSE (the Orange Tree), turn left into the private lane.
You will find us first on the right.
From Castleton, take the road to Rosedale and Kirkbymoorside.
After about four miles you will see Ralphs cross, after which take the left turn to Rosedale.
You might think that walking is a new pastime just for the privileged few.
Actually walking has been around considerably longer, and comes in various forms; walking to work, walking to the shops, walking home etc.
When you consider how mundane some of these journeys can be, then a change could be just what you are looking for.
Walking through the valley of Rosedale can be a real pleasure for the casual walker, the walking enthusiast, or simply "just on holiday".
There are walks a plenty just in the valley of Rosedale.
