The Lingholm Estate
If you are looking for a Lake District self-catering holiday with lakeside access, nature at your fingertips and stunning scenery, then The Lingholm Estate is the perfect place for you. Across the Estate we have twelve high-quality holiday properties, ranging from the luxurious Boathouse, to a number of two-bedroom apartments in the main house right up to six bedrooms in our houses and cottages.

Lingholm has a strong connection with Beatrix Potter, who spent ten Summer and Autumn holidays on the Estate. Beatrix credited The Lingholm Kitchen Garden as her original inspiration for Mr McGregor's Garden in The Tale of Peter Rabbit. She also wrote The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin and the first draft of The Tale of Mrs Tiggy-Winkle whilst staying at Lingholm.

We are regular visitors to the Lakes and consider ourselves lucky to have found The Lingholm Estate self catering apartments. This is truly 5 star accommodation in a wonderfully restored country house, set in amazing grounds right on the banks of Derwent Water.
