Bell House Hotel & Restaurant
The Bell House is a privately-owned 17th century hotel steeped in history and charm and is the perfect place to relax and unwind with family and friends. Our fine selection of beers, traditional real ales and extensive wine list can all be enjoyed within our grounds. Whether you are dining al-fresco in our gardens, in our dining room, the private dining area, or simply cosied beside one of our open fires, whichever your preference, you will be following in the footsteps of our country's Royal Heritage.

At the heart of our business is a team of experienced chefs and young staff; all overseen by our general manager, Chris Williams. Chris, who has an enormous amount of experience, was instrumental with the setting up of Harvey Nichols' London restaurants Oxo Tower and Prism and, until recently, was part-owner of the award winning El Gato Negro in Rippenden, Yorkshire.

El Gato Negro was awarded best local Spanish restaurant in the 2009 series of Gordon Ramsay's F Word. Chris prides himself on his staff training and works with some of our local youngsters to provide a fresh and efficient service.
Services
All of our bedrooms are comfortable and have all the old charm and quirkiness that you would expect from a building that has stood the test of time for over 500 years.
A mixture of double, single and family rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms gives us the flexibilty to accomodate each and every visitior from those travelling alone on business to couples and families visiting the many local attractions that the area has to offer.
Our Restaurant and Bar have recently been refurbished in a unique fashion retaining a lot of the history and story of the building.
Wood burning stoves, families and dogs all go to make a very warm and welcome atmosphere at the Bell House.
The menu is carefully and expertly created by our team of chefs using only the best quality and freshest ingredients available.
There is always a good selection of special dishes to choose from so be sure to check the board.
Our ingredients are delivered daily from local, traceable sources including Bartlett & Sons of Bath, Hedonist Bakery and Rowdey Cow Ice Cream - these suppliers are considered some of the best in their field.
Cleanliness and hygiene have always been of paramount importance at The Bell House Hotel and every member of staff is held equally responsible for maintaining the highest possible standards so we were all proud and delighted when we received a five star food hygiene rating from the Food Standards Agency.
