Northumberland is England's most northern county and being largely rural with an interlacing network of lightly-trafficked quiet roads, it is a gem for cycle touring.
Whether you are looking for coastal flatlands or rolling hills you will be spoilt for choice.
Iconic landmarks including picturesque villages, castles and 'big sky' views there is a wealth of places to visit.
Ranging from challenging long distance trails with cosy pubs and welcoming guest houses en route, to leisurely circular walks through pretty hamlets and wildlife rich coast and countryside, Northumberland has it all.
Discover castles, golden beaches, wildlife and history on the Northumberland Coast Path.
It's made for walking; if you want something remote, head north of Bamburgh Castle and past Stag Rock to a wilder coast, the sea on one side, sand dunes on the other and on the far horizon stands Lindisfarne Castle.
