Gwenoldy (Swallows' Rest in Welsh) is a luxurious cottage, converted from an 18th century stone-built barn. Its setting is spectacular, with glorious views across a secluded valley. We are in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and enjoy a wonderfully peaceful lifestyle. Gwenoldy offers every comfort for up to four people, from a woodburning stove to free wifi (not superfast, but fine for email and web-surfing).
Snowdonia, Chester and the North Wales beaches are close at hand, and local amenities include excellent pubs serving good food, a crafts and antique centre with a popular restaurant, and many country shops and sporting venues.

Services
Gwenoldy sits at right angles to the house and was converted in 2004 from the stable and forge which once served the farm.
Opposite the cottage is the old bakehouse, with its original wood-fired bread oven, and the stone-built pigsties, now used by us for storing logs and by swallows for their annual breeding visits.
Coed y Mynydd Isaf (Lower Mountain Wood) is no longer the centre of a working farm, but on our two acres we grow much of our own fruit and vegetables, using organic methods and local varieties as much as we can.

There is a full-size gas cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and fridge freezer to make your life easy.
The larder cupboard has a thick slate base, constructed from the local slate of the original manger.
