Our room was spotless, very quiet and comfortable with a lovely bathroom. The bar and breakfast/ dining areas are stunning.

The beautiful Bute Court, now renamed the Marquis Hotel, was built for the 3rd Marquis of Bute as a summer residence in the 19th century.
Still having many of the original features it was converted to a fine hotel around 1920 which includes superb sea views.
The original brochure for the hotel states that "all rooms are lit by electricity" but "visitors using bedrooms as sitting rooms will be charged 2/- extra per week for light".
I wonder if we could get away with that.?

All of our bedrooms have all the amenities you require including tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers, flat screen TV's and Wi-Fi.
All rooms are also equipped with refurbished en-suite bathroom or shower rooms.
A choice of Standard, Garden View or Sea Facing accommodation available in either single, double, twin or family rooms.
If you have mobility difficulties, or just need to take things a bit easier, ask about our ground floor rooms.
They have level access to Reception as well as the Restaurant and Bar area and have space to move around if you are a wheelchair user.
All rooms are also equipped with refurbished en-suite bathroom or shower rooms.

Excellent stay, the recent renovations (touch more to do yet), are based on quality especially the en-suite facilities.
Torquay hotels need such bringing in to the 21st century.
