Both of us are from West Yorkshire originally and have always loved the outdoors and especially the Yorkshire Dales; as it's a great place to run, cycle or hike.
We were both competitive runners and I have represented England on a number of occasions.
Phillip started out as a cyclist and competed at the Commonwealth Games in 1986 before moving more towards running and fell running in particular.
We both do still run and I have been known to occasionally compete at local fell races; although the B&B does limit this.
The ever-changing seasons ensure that Littondale has something to offer whenever you come.
In the Spring, the lanes and fields are a mass of wild flowers; in the Summer the sheep graze in the meadows and a great variety of birds can be seen.
Autumn brings rich, deep colours to the trees and the moorland heather which provides cover for the many grouse and pheasant.
Opportunities for walking abound.
From the door you can amble along the river or twisting lanes down Dale to Arncliffe or up-Dale to Halton Gill; we've 30+ walks to choose from; all starting in Littondale; many from Park Bottom's doorstep.
Littondale is an ideal location in the Yorkshire Dales National Park for a walking holiday; here you can escape the crowds and walk in peace and quiet in the rolling hills and dales.
Below are a number of different walks; with options of easy, moderate, hard or very hard!
All walks start from various locations in Littondale and all have maps and full detailed instructions provided.
If you do, you'll enjoy your walk and you will be helping to protect our Dale now and for future generations.
