From every room there are close-up views of the nearby mountains. We love living in the Lake District and our family have been fell farmers at Gill Brow Farm for two generations, with my husband, John and I farming here for over 30 years. Stay in a 300-year-old farmhouse, full of character with beams, rustic doors and wooden floors. There is a choice of two bedrooms.
Our self-catering cottage is attached to the 17th century farmhouse and features unspoiled views across the Newlands Valley. 3 bedrooms, sleeping 6 people. Set on a traditional hill farm, we look after a fell flock of mainly Swaledale and native Herdwick sheep (Herdy to you and me), plus a small suckler herd.

Enjoy a perfectly relaxing break at Gill Brow Farm, nestled in the heart of the Lake District's Newlands Valley, a place of outstanding natural beauty.
It is quintessential Beatrix Potter countryside and near to Braithwaite, one of the Lake District's most picture-postcard villages.
Buttermere is also on our doorstep and is equally picturesque.
Gill Brow Farm is also only 15 minutes from Keswick, of one of the Lake District's most popular market towns.
A great place to join the bustle as you browse independent shops, enjoy a tipple or a bite to eat in one of the many tearooms, pubs and restaurants or visit the local Theatre By the Lake.
