We are Eilean and Graeme and run the Hawthorns B&B as a traditional Bed & Breakfast accommodation offering spacious, comfortable and relaxing rooms and facilities all within the beautiful setting of the rural village of Mey. Mey is the home to the Castle of Mey. Boasting open views towards Dunnet Head, the most northerly point on the UK mainland, the Hawthorns sits directly on the NC500 route, just a short 7 mile drive from John O'Groats.
We are proud to report that many of our guests describe our B&B as comfortable and relaxing. These words are all over the reviewing websites and in many of the handwritten comments in our guestbook. We also get great marks for value for money. With 5 bedrooms there are many options and all our rooms have a flat-screen TV with Freeview channels, tea/coffee making facilities, a fridge, en-suite bathroom (one with disability facilities) and more details here.
The Hawthorns B&B is located in the village of Mey, home of the Casttle O'Mey, and right between Dunnet Head and the Gills Bay Ferry to Orkney in the neighbourhood of John O'Groats (which also has a Ferry) but there is much to see and do. in the immediate area.
