Le Talbooth Restaurant was discovered by the late Gerald Milsom in 1952, when it was just a simple tearoom with a superb location by the River Stour.
Several years later, in 1969, Gerald bought Maison Talbooth and established it as a luxury hotel.
In 1978, Gerald, returning from a visit to America, decided that he rather liked the idea of having a seafood restaurant.
He found The Pier in Harwich was for sale - and the rest is history!
In 2001, Paul and Geraldine Milsom opened Milsoms in Dedham, which quickly became the place to eat, drink and stay in Essex.
